Hard Surface Tracking - Part 1 Part 1 of 2 6 Week Course This course will teach the foundations of Hard Surface Tracking. It aims to deliver a mixture of theory and practical exercises to teach dogs to follow a track laid by a person over hard surfaces and indicate on any "evidence" discarded along the track. Hard surface tracking is more demanding than soft surfaces (such as on grass). Hard surfaces such as concrete hold less odour for a shorter time. Dogs will need to build up a high level of focus and discrimination of odour. What You Will Need: - 2 x Marker Cones - Flat Collar - Comfortable Fitting Harness (e.g. Perfect Fit) - Ideally kept for sole use for Tracking - Longline/Tracking Lead (Non-retractable, No slip leads) - Selection of Dogs' Favourite Treats (A lot!!) - Dogs' Favourite Toy - Dog Bowl & Water - Poo bags How Classes Will Be Running: - Please make sure to leave your dog in the car at the start of the class to discuss the theory part of the training first. - You must keep your dog on lead at all times on the grounds. - Dogs to be walked on lead at designated walking area ONLY. - Please clean up after your dog and take poo bags with you or in the bins provided. - If your dog barks or lunges at other dogs or people please get in touch to discuss 1-2-1 training with our dogs to help prepare them for the class environment.
