Service Description

Understanding The Odour Picture A practical scent detection workshop on odour movement in real searches Odour doesn’t behave the way we think it does. It moves, lifts, pools, gets trapped, drifts away… and sometimes leads your dog somewhere that makes no sense at all. But what if your dog isn’t getting it wrong? What if they’re working exactly what’s in front of them and we’re just not seeing the full picture? This workshop is designed to give you a clearer understanding of what’s actually happening in a search. Not by overloading you with theory but by showing you, step by step, how odour behaves in real environments and how that directly impacts your dog. We’ll explore: How odour moves and settles within a space The effect of airflow, surfaces and surroundings Why dogs work away from source How to recognise when your dog is in odour How to support your dog without getting in the way Most importantly, you’ll start to see your dog’s behaviour differently. With less guessing, less interference and more trust in what they’re telling you. ⸻ Workshop Details 📅 Sunday 7th June ⏰ 10:00am – 4:00pm 📍 Carmarthen Showground Limited working spaces to keep it practical and hands-on.
