Service Description
Sniffer Dog Weekend Trial Workshop & Level 1 Trials Day 1 – Sniffer Dog Trial Workshop Saturday 18th April | 10:30am – 3:30pm | Limited to 10 teams This workshop is designed to give you a clear understanding of what’s involved in a sniffer dog trial and how the different elements are assessed, before you step into one. Rather than rushing straight into a trial environment, we slow everything down and focus on the skills, handling and decision-making that sit behind a confident, successful run. Throughout the day we’ll look at: Indication and commitment to source Independent searching Area coverage and search strategy Team partnership and handler choices Reading your dog and knowing when to support vs step back How trials are scored and what judges are looking for Each team will have one practice run, while the rest of the group will have the opportunity to score and judge. Seeing things from the judge’s perspective often makes handling clearer and builds real understanding. This is a supportive, learning-focused day, no pressure, no rushing, just time to build confidence and clarity. All attending teams will receive a certificate of attendance. Suitable for: Teams new to trials and those building confidence. Please note: Bring your own lunch Tea/coffee facilities available (microwave access if applicable) Mixed-ability group Spaces limited to 10 teams What to Bring: Flat collar or harness Non-retractable lead (no slip leads) High-value treats Your dog's favourite toy Water bowl and water Poo bags Dogs must remain on lead within the grounds.
