Service Description
🐾 Level 2 – Scented Retrieve Trial (Target Odour: Catnip) A progression from Level 1, introducing a specific scent target to develop precision and scent discrimination. The hidden article will be fabric or similar material infused with catnip. Overview • Two trials • Each in a 30 × 30 metre search area • One catnip-scented hide per trial • Dogs may work off-lead or on a long line • Combined scores determine final placements Training Focus • Pairing the target odour (catnip) with the retrieve • Scent-handling awareness and avoiding contamination • Clear retrieve behaviours and confident delivery to hand Scoring (Per Search – 40 points) • Find – 10 points • Retrieve Action – 10 points (full retrieve to handler line) • Attempted Retrieve – 0 points • Retrieve to Hand – 10 points (full) or 5 points (partial) • Dog–Handler Relationship – 5 points • Enthusiasm – 5 points Deductions • Dropping the item without attempting a pickup: –5 points Time Limit: 5 minutes per search A step up in challenge, encouraging accuracy, consistency, and handler technique. 🐾 Is Your Dog Ready? Cancellation Policy
ClickStart Dog Training – Booking Policy Payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure your place. Payment can be made by bank transfer or online. If you need a payment plan, please contact us before booking. Cancellations made 14 days or more before the start date will be refunded minus a 25% administration fee to cover processing and preparation costs. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable, as spaces are limited and cannot usually be reallocated at short notice. If you or your dog are unwell, please get in touch as soon as possible. We may offer to transfer your booking to a future course or session at our discretion. If your booking starts within 14 days of purchase, you agree to waive the statutory cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If weather conditions or other factors make training unsafe or unsuitable, we may postpone a session. Any affected classes or events will be rescheduled, not refunded. If a course is cancelled due to low enrolment, you will be offered a transfer or full refund. Only kind, science-based or ethical training methods are permitted. Harsh handling, shouting, lead jerking, or the use of aversive tools (such as choke chains, prong collars, spray collars or rattle bottles) are not allowed. Please do not bring dogs who are unwell or contagious. Dogs who have received the kennel cough (bordetella) vaccine should not attend for three weeks after vaccination, as it is a live vaccine. By booking, you accept responsibility for your dog’s behaviour and safety during all training sessions. ClickStart Dog Training accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to property, dogs, or persons.
