We would like to congratulate all our amazing competitors who participated in the recent UK Dog Sport Event. It was a fantastic showcase of talent, determination, and the incredible bond between dogs and their handlers. We are proud of each and every one of you!
This was an event of firsts: It was ClickStart Dog Training's first UKDS Event, and the first UKDS Event for Wales! It was also a first for Judge Celia Bourne who was ably assisted by steward Mark Gowler.
The weather was perfect (a big plus in Wales) as the Judge and Steward arrived. The equipment was all out and ready and the competitor’s dogs walked and ready to work. Then came the shock of someone unexpected arriving, we discovered the venue had been double booked! But with deep breaths and a little rearranging, we sorted it out and started pretty much on time.
Â
Sadly, we had two absentees, (we did appreciate them letting us know that they couldn’t attend). This left us with 6 competitors all ready and waiting to start. The search square was the first to be tested on the agenda.
All teams worked really well, and a credit to the handlers.
Dogs were all happy and enjoying the day pleasing their owners.
We saw some excellent scores achieved, especially taking into account quite a few distractions for the dogs to cope with.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone: Celia and Mark for putting everyone at ease to enjoy the day; our competitors for their support, coming with a happy attitude and with plates full of delicious food! It was lovely to sit down and chat together at lunch time. Â
