Scent Seekers: Brechfa Edition Friday 2nd October | 10am–4pm | £85 per dog & handler After our Preseli and Black Mountains adventures, Scent Seekers is heading a little closer to home for an autumn day exploring Brechfa Forest and Llanllwni Mountain. This is scent detection away from the training field, a full day built around giving our dogs the chance to search in real, changing environments. We’ll begin around Brechfa with some fun motivational searches to get the dogs warmed up and into their work, before heading deeper into the woodland for some fun scent challenges. As the day progresses, we’ll make our way up towards Llanllwni Mountain, leaving the shelter of the forest behind for our final searches out on the open mountain. Different surfaces, changing wind and air movement, natural distractions and completely new search areas will give dogs and handlers plenty to think about throughout the day. The Journey 🐾 Motivational Searches – Fun searches to warm up, build confidence and get noses working. 🌲 Woodland Challenge – Take those skills into the forest, working amongst trees, trails and natural features. ⛰️ Open Mountain Searches – Finish the working part of our adventure on Llanllwni Mountain, where the open landscape brings a completely different scent picture. ☕ Pub Finish – Then it’s back down to Brechfa to finish the day together at the pub for a well-earned drink and something to eat for anyone who would like to stay. This isn't a competition and it isn't about perfect searches. Scent Seekers is about getting out there, working your dog in places we don't normally get to train, learning together and having a really good day while we're doing it. Come prepared for a proper Welsh autumn adventure - suitable footwear and clothing, water, plenty of rewards for your dog and anything else you normally use for searching. Real dogs. Real searches. Cancellation Policy
ClickStart Dog Training – Booking Policy Payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure your place. Payment can be made by bank transfer or online. If you need a payment plan, please contact us before booking. Cancellations made 14 days or more before the start date will be refunded minus a 25% administration fee to cover processing and preparation costs. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable, as spaces are limited and cannot usually be reallocated at short notice. If you or your dog are unwell, please get in touch as soon as possible. We may offer to transfer your booking to a future course or session at our discretion. If your booking starts within 14 days of purchase, you agree to waive the statutory cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If weather conditions or other factors make training unsafe or unsuitable, we may postpone a session. Any affected classes or events will be rescheduled, not refunded. If a course is cancelled due to low enrolment, you will be offered a transfer or full refund. Only kind, science-based or ethical training methods are permitted. Harsh handling, shouting, lead jerking, or the use of aversive tools (such as choke chains, prong collars, spray collars or rattle bottles) are not allowed. Please do not bring dogs who are unwell or contagious. Dogs who have received the kennel cough (bordetella) vaccine should not attend for three weeks after vaccination, as it is a live vaccine. By booking, you accept responsibility for your dog’s behaviour and safety during all training sessions. ClickStart Dog Training accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to property, dogs, or persons.
