Tracking Foundations 6 Week Course Teach your dogs to follow disturbance on the ground left by a person's ("perpetrator's") foot steps! We have used dogs' abilities to search and follow ground disturbance in Law Enforcement, Search & Rescue Law Enforcement and Conservation. But Tracking is also such a great sport to enjoy with our Pet Dogs. Benefits of Tracking for Pet Dogs: > Tracking is brilliant for any age, breed and temperament of dog. > It is mentally stimulating; Give your dog a job so he doesn't go self employed! > It is a great physical workout; 10 minutes of sniffing is more tiring than an hour's exercise! > Creates happy dogs; It is scientifically proven that sniffing releases happy endorphins. > It reduces stress and anxiety; Tracking gives anxious dogs something else to focus on. > Builds a bond; This is a team sport and really builds on dog/handler relationships. In this course we will teach you the foundations of Tracking, whether it be for a fun pastime to enjoy with your pet dog or to start off on the right foot for competition or trials. We will teach your dog to distinguish and drive for the target scent, to follow the target scent keeping their nose down to the end of the track and indicate on any "evidence" left behind on that track. You will also learn more about your dog's amazing nose! What You Will Need: 2 x Marker Poles - Flat Collar - Comfortable Fitting Harness (e.g. Perfect Fit) - Ideally kept for sole use for Tracking - Longline/Tracking Lead (Non-retractable, No slip leads) - Selection of Dogs' Favourite Treats (A lot!!) - Dogs' Favourite Toy - Dog Bowl & Water - Poo bags How Classes Will Be Running: - Please make sure to leave your dog in the car at the start of the class to discuss the theory part of the training first. - You must keep your dog on lead at all times on the grounds. - Dogs to be walked on lead at designated walking area ONLY. - Please clean up after your dog and take poo bags with you or in the bins provided. - If your dog barks or lunges at other dogs or people please get in touch to discuss 1-2-1 training with our dogs to help prepare them for the class environment.
