Puppy Class - 7 Week Course Puppyhood is the perfect time to lay the foundation for a confident, well-mannered, and happy dog. Our 7-week Puppy Class, following The Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Scheme, is designed to equip you with the skills to teach your puppy essential life skills in a kind, fun, and effective way. Course Overview Our comprehensive 7-week course covers: Basic Training: Teaching your puppy to sit/stay, recall, walk nicely on a lead, and practise good food manners. Focus and Engagement: Techniques to capture and maintain your puppy's attention. Health Checks and Grooming: Introduction to maintaining your puppy's health and grooming routine. Socialisation: Proper methods to introduce your puppy to new environments and other dogs, ensuring positive interactions. Play and Drop: Teaching appropriate play behaviour and the "drop" command to manage toys and objects. Calm and Settle: Encouraging your puppy to relax and settle down on command. Puppy Care Tips: Expert advice on managing puppy biting, separation anxiety, and toilet training. Each session lasts 45 minutes, which includes a few minutes at the end for Q&A, allowing you to seek personalised advice from our experienced instructors. Eligibility Puppies can join from 10 weeks of age after their first round of vaccinations, up to 6 months old. If your puppy is over 6 months old, check out our Beginners Course for Teens and Above. What to Bring Flat Collar or Harness Lead: Non-retractable, no slip leads. Treats: A selection of your puppy’s favourite treats (moist treats like sausages work best). Toy: Your puppy’s favourite toy. Dog Bowl & Water Poo Bags Mat/Bed: For your puppy to settle on. Brush Note: Perfect Fit Harnesses, Training Leads, Toys, and Treats are available for purchase at the training venue. Class Guidelines Water and Bowl: Please bring your own. Attendance: Only registered puppies may attend. Leads: Keep your puppy on lead at all times within the grounds. Designated Walking Area: Walk puppies on lead only in the designated area. Clean Up: Please clean up after your puppy and use the provided bins or take poo bags with you. Behavioural Concerns: If your puppy barks or lunges at other dogs or people, please contact us to discuss 1-2-1 training to prepare them for the class environment.
