Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Class - 7 Week Course Our Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Class is designed to build on the foundational skills your dog has already learned, taking their training to the next level. This 7-week course will help you and your dog work towards achieving the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award, which promotes good behaviour and responsible dog ownership. Course Overview Throughout the 7-week course, we cover: Focus & Engagement: Techniques to keep your dog’s attention sharp and responsive. On-Lead Walking: Ensuring your dog walks calmly and politely on a lead, even in distracting environments. Manners at the Door: Teaching your dog to behave appropriately at entryways, promoting calmness and control. Control Around Other People and Dogs: Enhancing your dog's social skills, making them well-mannered in various situations. 1 Minute Stays: Building your dog's patience and control by working on extended stay exercises. Recall: Ensuring your dog reliably comes back when called, even amidst distractions. Health Inspections & Grooming: Basics of maintaining your dog's health and appearance, teaching them to be comfortable with routine checks. Participants will have the opportunity to undergo the Kennel Club Bronze test when the class group is ready, providing a tangible goal to work towards. Eligibility This class is ideal for those who have completed our Puppy Class, Beginner Class, or 1-2-1 Training. We also welcome clients who have completed similar training elsewhere if there is room available. Please contact us to ensure this is the right class for you and your dog. What to Bring Flat Collar or Harness Lead: Non-retractable, no slip leads. Treats: A selection of your dog's favourite treats (moist treats like sausages work best). Toy: Your dog’s favourite toy. Dog Bowl & Water Poo Bags Mat/Bed: For your dog to settle on. Note: Perfect Fit Harnesses, Training Leads, Toys, and Treats are available for purchase at the training venue. Class Guidelines Water and Bowl: Please bring your own. Attendance: Only registered dogs may attend. Leads: Keep your dog on lead at all times within the grounds. Designated Walking Area: Walk dogs on lead only in the designated area. Clean Up: Please clean up after your dog and use the provided bins or take poo bags with you. Behavioural Concerns: If your dog barks or lunges at other dogs or people, please contact us to discuss 1-2-1 training to prepare them for the class environment.
