🌀 Hoopers Workshop – 2-Hour Session Looking for a fun, flowing activity that builds connection, confidence, and off-lead skills – without the jumping or strain of agility? Hoopers might just be your dog’s new favourite game. This two-hour Hoopers workshop is designed to give you and your dog a taste of the sport, introduce the key equipment and handling techniques, and help you build teamwork in a relaxed, supportive setting. Whether you're brand new or ready to refine your skills, we'll tailor the session to your level. What is Hoopers? Hoopers is a fast-growing sport where dogs navigate a course of hoops, barrels, and tunnels. It’s similar in pace and excitement to agility but involves no jumping or tight turns, making it easier on joints and suitable for dogs of all ages, breeds, and fitness levels – including puppies and golden oldies. It’s also a fantastic outlet for dogs who are reactive, anxious, or need structured off-lead work, and ideal for owners who want to build clearer communication without the pressure of formal obedience. 🧠 In this workshop, we’ll cover: Introduction to hoops, barrels, and tunnels Teaching directional cues and handling techniques Building your dog’s confidence and understanding of the game Developing off-lead focus and distance handling Working through fun sequences tailored to each dog-handler team 🐾 What to bring: Flat collar or well-fitted harness Standard lead (no retractables or slip leads) High-value treats and/or favourite toy Water and a bowl Poo bags 📋 Class Guidelines: Dogs will be working off lead – if your dog is uncomfortable around others or tends to charge in to say hello, please contact us before booking to discuss suitability or 1-2-1 prep options. Only dogs booked into the workshop may attend. Dogs must be on lead at all times outside of the training area. Please walk dogs in the designated dog-walking area only. Bring your own water and bowl – there may not be a shared supply. Clean up after your dog and take used poo bags home with you. If your dog barks or lunges at other dogs or people, please get in touch to discuss whether a 1-2-1 would be a better starting point.
